Library activity slowed down over the summer months, but we are grateful to Dorothy Paun for volunteering to keep it open two hours on Mondays from June 21st through August 16th. We will return to our winter schedule starting September 18, and anyone interested in helping out who has not yet contacted us will be warmly welcomed.
The enthusiastic response to the Wagners' films Matter of Heart and the series on Remembering Jung prompted us to get a set for the library. In the past we have lost videos that were loaned from the library, so the board agreed this time to require each video borrower to leave a deposit, in the amount of the purchase of the video, with the library when it is taken out. This deposit will be kept on a credit card charge slip and the charge put through if the video is not returned. Direct purchases of the videos can also be made, but we would not take any returns.
We are continuing to complete the cassette file of past presentations. Some of the earlier programs are on eight-track tape and need to be converted. If anyone knows of the whereabouts of an eight-track player that could be used for the input to this conversion, would you please contact or leave a message for Bunny Brown. The board voted at the retreat to purchase at least two additional bookcases, and negotiations are underway to get them scheduled for construction. Of course, we continue to welcome donations for this purpose, either as books to be sold at the sale or simply as cash contributions.
