We think we can congratulate ourselves . . ., imagining that we have left all these phantasmal gods far behind. But what we have left behind are only verbal spectres, not the psychic facts that were responsible for the birth of the gods. We are still as much possessed by autonomous psychic contents as if they were Olympians. Today they are called phobias, obsessions, and so forth; in a word, neurotic symptoms. The gods have become diseases; Zeus no longer rules Olympus but rather the solar plexus, and produces curious symptoms for the doctor's consulting room. . . .

Beginning this year, the Society is providing online readers with the convenience of direct links to further information about any books mentioned on its web pages. Primarily, this will make it easier to learn about or purchase books that presenters have written or recommended. This service is being offered in association with Amazon.com, which can take online orders for any books in its database. This arrangement also benefits the Society; the Jung Society earns a small commission on any purchases you make following a direct link to Amazon from a book link on our site. (Note that the commission does not change the book's sale price--there is no additional charge to the book buyer.)
When appropriate, links will also be provided to online information about videos and compact discs.
Thank you for your support!
A series of group-oriented self study programs about Carl Jung and his work are available from the Centerpoint organization. Programs are conducted by audiotape and each student is provided with a printed transcript. The programs are divided into sessions, with discussion questions at the end of each session. To encourage discussion and the sharing of ideas these courses are designed to be taken in a group of two or more students. Each student pays for his or her own set of books. The courses available are:
| Course | No. of Sessions | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Centerpoint I (introductory) |
18 | $65 |
| Centerpoint II | 18 | $50 |
| Centerpoint III | 14 | $50 |
Any Jung Society member, or nonmember, who would like to learn more about these courses, or to enroll, is invited to leave a message at the Jung Society office, (206) 547-3956, or send an e-mail message (with phone number) to dcs@eskimo.com. Be sure to state clearly your interest in Centerpoint. We will return your call to set up a time to meet at the office and go over more information about the courses.

Do you value Jung's psychology enough to invest your time in assuring that the Jung Society continues to be a presence in the Seattle area? If so, the Jung Society needs you.
